Mercury Art Center & Rukh Art Hub present the exhibition Procrustean Bed,
March 09 – March 15, 2026.

‘The exhibition explores systems of normalization that transform bodies, biographies, and experiences into material for correction.

Through the work of Ukrainian artists, we reveal the mechanisms by which migration policy, bureaucratic procedures, educational and medical institutions, and economic models of productivity forcibly adapt reality to a predetermined form. The Procrustean Bed here is the principle of structures that demand conformity: what goes beyond the limits is cut off; what falls short is stretched.

The exhibition does not offer a utopia, but makes visible what functions as self-evident, and this is its political gesture.’
