According Wikipedia, the annual Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, Brooklyn is the largest art parade in the United States that takes place on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice.
There are no limits for self-expression in this parade, so you can see a festival of colors and all kinds of costume variations, the main theme of which is the sea and mermaids, of course.
